Understanding Insurance Coverage for Your Functional Medicine Visit
Our functional medicine consultations are billed similarly to visits with an acupuncturist since Dr. Diego Rutenberg holds an acupuncture physician license in the state of Florida. However, it’s important to know that these services are typically covered as out-of-network by most insurance plans.
What Does “Out-of-Network” Mean?
In-network providers have pre-negotiated rates with your insurance company, meaning your insurance might cover a portion of the visit cost after your deductible is met. Out-of-network providers do not have such agreements, so you may be responsible for a larger share of the cost, potentially even the entire amount upfront.
Additional Considerations:
Some insurance plans include wellness benefits that might cover certain functional medicine services. Be sure to ask your provider about these options.
We are committed to transparency about our fees. We will discuss them with you before your consultation so that you can make informed decisions about your care.
Our goal is to help you understand your coverage and maximize any potential benefits for your functional medicine journey.
Even if insurance coverage is limited, functional medicine can provide valuable insights into your health. We can explore personalized treatment plans that fit both your needs and budget.
Insurance Verification Process:
To verify your insurance coverage for functional medicine consultations and office visits (under an acupuncture license), please complete the information below and upload a clear photo of both the front and back of your health insurance card. Once we receive your information, we’ll process your request as quickly as possible. Please allow up to 24 hours for a response, excluding weekends and holidays.
